Mosquitoes & Man.

Deep within the acrid and desolate land of 'nothingtoblogabout', while reflecting on a random series of things said and read, I chanced upon an incredibly brave mosquito descending upon my right thigh.

Alas, our beloved mosquito could not escape it's cruel fate of death, for a mere slap in the back sent it a one-way ticket to mosquito heaven, or hell for that matter.

Perhaps it's the awkward placement of my personal desktop in the darkest and most inaccessible(by mobile wavelengths) corner of my humble home, perhaps it's the dreary downpours we're getting that deem this season the season of mass mosquito orgies or perhaps it's simply the absence of other sweeter blood joints, namely in the form of the diabetic sister and brother who consume up to 10kg worth of sugar daily, but I think this mosquito culling exercise might just become a permanent start to my every blog posts from now on.

Speaking of blood and mosquitoes, I've just realised that 'Yellow' by Coldplay is an excellent song depicting the intimate relationship between humans and mosquitoes.

Let's observe one of the last few stanzas of the song,

Your skin
Oh yeah your skin and bones
Turn into something beautiful

D'you know for you I bleed myself dry
For you I bleed myself dry

Assuming that the first portion is sung by the mosquito and the second portion by us, the bloody humans, doesn't 'Yellow' deserve the most befitting love song of the century award now?

Now for these emo, cryptic phrases in italics at the end of blog posts as termed so by Sondra;
if only mosquitoes could sing in audible frequencies.
and I've just realised that I haven't even got to the topic which I had wanted to blog about.

A Sweet Poem.

Just watched Charlie and the Chocolate factory AGAIN~
Reminded me of this poem I came across quite some time ago.
Koped from YY's blog, this is

A Sweet Poem.

How lovely to see a lemon drop moon,
Adoring a blueberry sky in June.
Mountains of chocolate all dusted in white,
Pure sugar icing, thus making them bright.

Liquorice logs are the bark of the tree's,
Angelica leaves that sway in the breeze.

Peppermint pebbles, a marshmellow shore,
Dolly mixture flowers, colours galore.

A cream soda lake and cranberry falls,
Little fudge houses with nut toffee walls.

Lollipop lamposts in soft treacle soil,
Sprinkled crushed peanuts a sidewalk with style.

Imagine the fun to visit this land,
Confectionary Island why?
It sounds grand.

1 litre of tears

error

10:13 pm

1 Litre of tears.

1 Litre Of Tears.

No joke. Cos' I think I seriously shed about 1 litre of tears watching it.
In fact I'm surprised it wasn't called like 100 Litres of Tears instead~

Ripped this off this Japanese Drama review
(http://www.channel-ai.com/blog/2006/01/01/1-litre-of-tears/)

"This drama is about a girl who was diagnosed with a disease called Spinocerebellar Degeneration when she was 15 years old, and was able to continue her life until her death at the age of 25 years old.

The plot is based on the true story of a Japanese girl named Kito Aya, who had the same disease. She kept writing in her diary to remember her experiences until she could no longer hold a pen. Aya simply wished to live until the end of her life, and the purpose of writing in the diary was to remind herself to not give up. She shed tears many times, at the same time encompassed by the rich love and support from her family, friends, and boyfriend. Her diary '1 Litre of Tears' ? was published after her death, because of its inspiring and courageous message of,
"Just being alive is such a lovely and wonderful thing."
So far, over 18,000,000 copies of her diary have been sold. "

As I watched the first episode I kept thinking how cliche the drama was titled and how it'd be impossible for me to squeeze that much tears from a mere 11 episode long storyline that seemed ratrehashedased to me. In fact I had pretty much a good laugh at the title when YY and Juney told me about it.

But now, I really see why it was titled aptly so.

It wasn't just wet frumpy and fat welts of tears just seemed to be connected to a tap running behind the lead's eyes that aim to force the same effects out of our eyes, but a heartfelt recount of a very very very painful journey and finding meaning in the little things we take granted for.

How muchtrivializelise the miracles of our everyday life.
How blessed we are.

"Can I be selfish ?" ,Aya asked her mother, was another question that kept going on and on in my head. Like to what extent do we reach out for the help of others, when do we push them away for their own good.
I've always felt that as much as I could, I shouldn't be selfish. I shouldn't deprive those I love of what they truly deserve- the better and more beautiful things in life just cos' I desire for them too.

But what if your constant "self-less-ness" hurts those around you?
You pushing them away from when they want to help you the most?
Kinda made me understand that one of the rudest and most painful thing you could do to a loved on in life, is to refuse a gift.

And to find meaning in all that you can do, when day after day, that list of what you can do shortens - together with your life.

Whenever I think about the possibility of having such a cruel disease inflicted upon any of my family and friends or even myself, I get REALLY REALLY REALLY sad.

Hmm...I don't remember feeling this much for a drama serial before. Not at such intensity, not with so much of my heart.

So I'm human afterall.

*Anyway, you can find this Japanese Drama serial on youtube, or Ch 56 if you've got cable, starts on the 28th Nov, every Monday and Tuesday, 11 pm.

"TEAR VSA TO SHREDS"

I'M FREAKIN' FREAKIN' PISSED!

TMD ()&^#$%^&^* VSA(Very Special Arts) , first they tell us ,
"OH YAY! WE'D BE GLAD TO HAVE YOU GUYS VOLUNTEERING FOR THE YEAR-END-PARTY FOR DISABLED KIDS!"

Then they say, "Sorry only 10 of you can volunteer as we have limited vacancies."

And dear me had to fight the flies in a padi field so I told them to email my daughter-in-law(Bella) the important details like where and when to gather or any other important stuff (LIKE HAVING ENOUGH VOLUNTEERS).

But NO, they had to wait until it was 3 hours into the 19th of November(the very day of the event) to inform us that, "Actually we have enough volunteers already."

Notice the absence of even an apology?
What the Fuck?

If you fucking don't need any volunteers, you fucking tell us that right from the start.
You don't fucking make us gather all those bullshit survey forms to email them back to you and plan and prepare for no fucking reason.

ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I sincerely hope that them fucking VSA people technorati themselves and read this fucking post about how shitty they are.

We wanted to volunteer, so we contact them.
They appeared to be all happy to have us volunteering, made us fill up dumb forms.
Then turned around and say enough volunteers, don't need us.

grr.
Too pissed off to continue.
I shall go watch the Goong episodes I've missed while I was away before I continue embarking on my "TEAR VSA TO SHREDS" scheme.

MOVIES MOVIES.

Remind me, NEVER NEVER NEVER EVER to wikipedia-ise any movie/book that seems to vaguely allude to 'other-worldliness', 'utopia', 'dystopia' and what not~

See, this afternoon, moderately bored and having to return the dvds I rented soon, I sat down like a good ol' couch potato and started watching 'Serenity' upon recommendation from Lesh~

5 seconds into the movie, the line,

"The savage outer planets were not so enlightened and refused Alliance control. The war was devastating, but the Alliance's victory over the Independents ensured a safer universe. And now everyone can enjoy the comfort and enlightenment of our civilization."

kinda gave me a hunch that I'm going all 'Brave New world'- again -.-"
Seriously I wonder if I'm ever shake off the effects of all that 'other worldliness' stuff we do during lit.

The movie was darn good though!
Tormented psychics, the whole grand 'utopic goal', big damn heros, religion and belief and what the people need to know.

Just one part that confused me a lil', is there nothing significant regarding this line,
"I am a leaf on the wind - watch how I soar ." by Wash?

Another movie I caught a couple days back was 'Forrest Gump'!
I know I know, kinda slow to be only watching Forrest Gump now, but I only have time now right??

Forrrest Gump was AWESOME!
One of those movies you'd have to ignore the commentaries, what of it being inspiring, funny, lovely and all, and truly see for yourself the beauty and magic of the simplicity and innocence of Forrest Gump.

Wikipedia mentioned that the movie veered from the novel quite abit, so I think I shall get hold of the book sometime soon(preferredbly after the Kahang Adventure camp).

Oh yeah, did I mention that I found this squashed lizard at the side of my sliding window?
It was so flat that it looked like a slightly larger dried ikan bilis.

My mum reckoned that it could have been there for years.
Hmm.
memo to self : never slam the window without checking for unauthorized lizards squirming between the window and the room.

"Stupid is as stupid does."

Painfully unemofied.

different stages of emotions.

There are those who refuse to even get upon that stage.
Then there are those happily dancing and jumping on that stage.

The frightened. The scared.
The selfish. The self-indulgent.

One sad. One glad.

Two extremes, two polarities.
Where do you stand?
Do you smile upon another's frown?
Do you cry at another's laughter?

Do they see those who are hurting?
That 'pain', is not a result of innate emotion?
That 'pain' , is caused by 'externalities' ?

See, if one is hit by a random bout of sadness and despair, that's DEPRESSION.
Depression doesn't surmount to pain.

So don't dismiss someone else's pain as 'emo-ing'.
'Emo-ing' refers to emotional fuckedups who openly display their emotions at the expense of those who love them.

Does that explain my contempt for emotional fcukwits?

Pain doesn't need any words.
It doesn't seek sympathy, doesn't seek understanding.
Pain is a silent residence deep within one.

Without trying ; It wants to be found.

YET yet another irritating survey~

1. Single, taken or crushing?

Gratefully single and crushing on pinkies yet to be TAKEN by me~ HAHAHAA!

2. Are you happy with your life now?
Naps 24/7, books galore, movie marathons, beloved sardines and pirates, days dedicated to animes/mangas...........etc..etc...

One BIG happy instant gratification session day in and out, what's not to be happy about?
Ah yes, the theory of Scarcity. Nobody's ever satisfied with 'enough', cos' 'enough' is never 'enough' for us greedy ingrates. ;)

3. When you meet the right person, do you fall in love with him/her fast?
Don't know.
Haven't met that 'person'.
Then again, considering the rate of my mental processes, it'll probably take me a million years to deem someone I met as 'right', I mean he could always be 'left' right? :p

4. Have you ever been heart broken?
YAH!
When I realised that the pinky I had JUST bought, is sold 5 FREAKIN' BUCKS CHEAPER ELSEWHERE!
HEARTBREAK AHHHHHHH~

5. Do you believe that there are some circumstances, where cheating love is acceptable?
never.

6. Would you take someone back even if he/she cheats on you?
notice the previous answer?

7. Have you talked about marriage to someone else before?
YUP! Specifically about NOT EVER getting married~
(high 5 Ms Choe!)

8. Do you want children?
Hmmm.
I'm ok with kids.
Mini-me-s(according to SARAH! ) sound pretty cool, but if I don't plan on getting married,I doubt the kids would ever 'appear'~

9. How many?
2? One mini-me and one mini-him. See, I'm fair and just~
Then again, if the 'him' who appears is a pain in the ass, just one mini-me would do~ -.-"

10. Would you consider adoption?
why not? A mini-me sounds creepy, considering the nutcase that I am~
Adopting a sane kid would be a nice alternative.

11. If someone likes you now, what do you think is the best way for him/her to let you know his/her feelings?
TELL ME! ALI LOVES TO FEEL LOVED! :D
Seriously though, I don't think such a situation is gonna arise anytime soon, cos' I'm pretty sharp when it comes to such stuff and trust me, I am VERY direct.
Most of the time anyway~

12. Do you enjoy getting into relationships?
not really.
Sounds like one HUGE waste of time, money, energy, emotions to me.
That said, NOW you know why I don't think I'd ever get married~

13. Do you believe in love at first sight?
YES! That's how Pinkies and ali got TOGETHER! :D:D:D

14. Do you believe you can change someone?
Nope, that's an individual's choice.
All I could do is voice my displeasures, pray and hope for the best,

15. If you could get married somewhere, where would it be?
Didn't I just say I'd probably NOT get married?

16. Do you give in easily when fighting?
Depends. If I feel very strongly about what I'm fighting for, obviously I won't give in-at all.

17. Do you have feelings for anyone now?
YUP! There's my pinkies, then my dog, then you my little friends reading this(lol~), then my family! If I didn't have any feelings for anyone, I don't think I ought to be catergorised under 'HUMAN'.

18. Do you ever wish that you could have had someone but you messed it up?
Hmm. Maybe, but 'mian chiang shi mei you xing fu de' (there can be no happiness in forcing what can't be done).
Anyway, as said by Ms Choe~
I don't think I would have anyone - it sounds so BRAVE NEW WORLD.

19. Have you ever broken a heart?
Yup~
Once I dropped a glass ornamental heart of my mum's~
there! broken heart~
hahaha!

Honestly though I think I've really broken some hearts before
There's my mum's heart whenever I've disappointed her. There's my dad's heart when I said I wouldn't get married. There's my dog's heart whenever I refuse to walk him. There's yy's heart, when I said I'd watch 'the Prestige' with my kids instead. Then there are the queer bunch of people I shudder to remember-A church-originated-stalker and a church-obsessed-strummer and some other random people from the ghost of Christmas past.

Tsk tsk, such a heart breaker. -.-"
And, sorry. really.

20. If one day your best friend falls in love with the guy/girl you are deeply in love with, what will you do?
LOL~Joke of the century!
I would NEVER be interested in any dude my best friends would be interested in cos' our tastes are simply WAY too different!

See, angel goes for POWERFUL, eyelashie-dudes cum LAW STUDENTS *wink* *wink*, yy ,the rich romantic ones(I am PARTIALLY correct now ain't I ?), grace, a good boy mummy would approve of, xy and June......
EH! TELL ME LEH! I DON'T KNOW!

And Kwayteow's blissfully stuck in coupleDOM already!

Also, I think we all agree that NO MALE is THAT worthy of the AWESOME friendship that we share. :D

21. Are you missing anyone right now?
not anyone that I know of~

22. Now you have to ask 5 of your friends to do this survey in their blogs.
HONG XIN YING
KOH YUN YU (haha! you kanna again!)
TAN MINJIA
LI XINLI

Because I love to bully cum suan her so much.................. ANG ANG! lol~

HAVE FUN! :D

HAP-PEE WEE-EK

Hmm, Monday was 'PRESTIGE MONDAY', Tuesday was 'KINO TUESDAY', Wednesday was 'SLEEP,SLACK,STONE WEDNESDAY' and yesterday was 'VIVO THURSDAY' and today shall be 'DINE& MOON Friday' !!! lol~

Blame the lovelies for this 'naming of the days' trend~
Then again, I think I'm partially to blame, for calling Monday, 'PRESTIGE MONDAY' in the first place~~~

Tsk tsk, ali ali ali~

So Tuesday was spent with the TELEVENPIRATES at gelare, where we waffled together! Though almost of of us went around eating stuff other then Gelare's pretty ok waffles (would have been better with Ice cream, DAMNIT).

OH YEAH, and Alson joined us for the first time ever! All you lovelies who didn't join us for waffles missed Alson' s display of his 'violent tendencies' whereby according to Lesh and the Sun, Alson wanted to bash up this CJ dude who was frenching his AC girlfriend in Gelare~

Then again, only Lesh and the Sun caught that moment~
Sheesh.

After Waffles, elaina the Bordersite left us for Borders while Shar, Marianne and Avril became the first Homies(meaning they're homing, which in turn means they're going home. And we're a ENGLISH LITERATURE class~ -.-") while we the Kinonites united and made our way towards Kino in our quest of quality stationary, books and manga!

Anyway, at Kino, Emily and I came across this book which had like 100,000 over baby names!
Guess what does 'Alison Lee' mean?

Alison meant truthful and noble.
Lee, as a name meant........get this, Sheep/Bull meadow.

So 'Alison Lee' meant Truthful Sheep meadow ? Noble Bull Meadow?
Can you imagine 'Truthful Bull Meadow' ? That'll be a paradox!
AWESOME, I have a paradox in my name!
lol~

And F.Y.I, Alfred meant, wise Elf Counsellor while Issac meant, 'he will laugh'~~~~
Like wtf??

Oh yeah, Emily and I also came across a VERY intriguing name.
Get this, Pimpnela!
Can you imagine the poor kid growing up?

"OEI, PIMP!! Get your si lan tao pimping ass over here!"
"PIMP! You pimping ehh!? You this Pimper"

And the list of other ways to torment a poor kid named 'PIMPNELA' continues..~

Wednesday, self-explanatory, did nothing but sleep, slack and stone! Which was good since I've haven't had one full day of rest for quite some time~~~

OK!
VIVO THURSDAY!
Hmmm.....it was ooo-kay lah~ Topshop had a pretty cute stationary corner and every other shop was HUGE, but what impressed me the most was this toyshop (aren't they always toyshops?) It had like LOTS and LOTS of seals and strawberry designed pillows, comforters, beanbags, cushions, dollhouses, etc etc etc~~

SUPER SUPER CUTE!
And that HUGE seal pillow thingy looked damn comfortable!
But I didn't bother to look at the price tags~
No intention of buying them in the first place~

Hmmm....had Carl's Junior for dinner.
The food was good! Especially the BBQ chicken thingy I had! It wasn't as HUGE-ASS as most of the other burgers there, just slightly more generous then most burger joints, but the quality of that burger, SUPER GOOD~ The salsa sauces were pretty good too, pity I can't say the same about the service.

See,the dude who delivered us our food glared at us and was DEMANDING whether we wanted Chili or Ketchup ; "CHILLI OR KETCHUP?!"
When I said both,he was like, "HOW MANY!?"

Wtf I wanted to scream back, "ENOUGH TO COVER YOU THIS SICK SHIT!"
But being in the public eye and having some sense, I decided not to.
BE GRATEFUL, YOU SAUCE DISPENSING ASSHOLE!

Talk about bad service, seriously I really don't think it's that difficult to offer your customer a somewhat decent service, I know cos' I was a shoes salesperson serving all them madcap aunties of Toa Payoh (People living in Toa Payoh are mad; RIGHT ANG ANG?? PAU?? YY??). Just a smile and a polite,"Can I help you?"
Doesn't take a rocket scientist to muster that now does it?

Sure the hours may be long, the customers unreasonable but really that is no excuse for a lack of attempt at even trying to provide some decent service.

Hmph.
If it wasn't for that AWESOME burger those in the kitchen made, I really might have used up all the chili sauce I could get my hands on to cover that *%$#& of an Ass.

Anyway, the sardines are coming over for Dinner and MOOVIES (Where the moon came from, good question, random decision to add it in), can't wait!

:D
