Religion
Religious fanaticism.
Or a honest and true love for all?
Sometimes I wonder just how and why do some people feel so strongly about religion? About something they can't see, feel perhaps but why and how so intensely?
And what's with they ever persistent to understand and cater to the 'spiritual needs' of others? I mean, yes I THINK they mean well, but really, I don't know how to say 'no'.
Yes, I recognize the incongruity with my religious beliefs and actions, that I'm not growing spiritually and all, but it just doesn't feel right, doesn't feel right to try to force something as complex as the intensity of one's relationship with God through your peers.
Really it just makes things awkward, to me at least.
Not only so, when people start being extra nice to you after you've agreed to visit their beloved church, you really wonder the motives of them being nicer then usual to you. They might merely be trying to make you feel more welcomed and loved and all, but seriously the cynic within doesn't believe in that crap.
That said, it is undeniable that those who invited me to their church recently truly are very nice people , even without the random gifts and letters. But, really that simply makes things harder. How oh how do I say 'no' ? After all that effort they've put in to somewhat 'rope' me in?
Really, I've always thought that when it comes to religion, one ought to be given the right to choose whether or not he or she wants to engage in that particular religion or not. So yes, nobody's forcing anything but one of the biggest flaws of the Christian church is it's most appealing attribute -- that you're enthusiastically welcomed and made to feel loved.
Isn't it wrong to attend church simply because of the company, the fun and the chocolates and not necessarily to go into God's house to simply worship and hear his word? Isn't Satan's weapon to simply make one comfortable in your religion without having a deeper relationship with God?
Trust me I've seen too many people practicing religion for all the wrong reasons the last time I participated in a youth fellowship/service/church camp.
But what happens when it is indeed true that you've reached a stage of stasis (BNW anyone?) in your pursuit for spirituality and a more intense relationship with God?
