Self Respect.
Sometimes when I manage to catch a glimpse of my sister's desktop(it has the words 'NEW YORK' splashed all over what little web space she has)or have a peek into the books (NEW YORK!) she reads or just listening to the manner which she uses to speak to everyone, I feel kinda alienated from her.
Ok, 'kinda' wasn't an appropriate word, that word had ought to be cancelled.
Seriously I really wonder how little pride some people have in their own culture and heritage.
It's almost as if its a shameful thing to actually NOT BE ANG-MO-LISED.
And frankly, do you peeps know what's the greatest irony?
It's people who do NOT know or have any connection to thier roots and cultures that ought to be slapped and stoned instead.
Now I'm not saying that we should all lock ourselves up in Chinatown and celebrate hungry ghosts while eating mooncakes and receiving ang pows every day of the year (what a creepy yet strangley appealing thought, Brave New World anyone? ), but the absolute embracement of one culture at the expense or your own is simply ridiculous.
In my sister's case, her devotion and enshrinement of 'New York' is an ABSOLUTE JOKE.
One : She has never been to New York.
Two : She thinks that pavements there are clean enough for you to lick ice crem off them.
Three: the books about New York which she reads are at least 25 years backward.
Like wtf?
*Random note*
My brother just asked me to sign an 'Approval of Divorce' form for the divorce of Sundae and my maid. Seriously this house is warped.

And it isn't just my sister but tons beyond tons of people in our little dot.
Kinda sad come to think of it.
The possibility of everyone having a common and shared culture, presumingly the most popular one, undifferentiated from the next in the future.
Not only sad actually, more of B-O-R-I-N-G.
