Post NDP.
How was NDP-2005??
It ROCKED!!!
And you know why?
Cos' I was in it!!
lol~
OKok~It was off to a prettttty slow start I must say. Maybe it's cos' everyone else was slacking at home while we were in school, waiting to go to the padang~ Not to mention, all of us already memorized that at 5:35 pre parade starts....6:05 21 cannon salute.....7:25 we get cloth ready.... 8:10 the fireworks would go off... yadah yadah
So we were at the grandstand, decked in our bloody red, HANGTEN shirt, which screams "SINGAPORE" . I doubt any of you would get the same one that we got [red. SINGAPORE. an eye, with a heart as the pupil. So it means "EYE LOVE SINGAPORE " ], cos' only those involved in NDP like the SAF people and us CJCians got it.
Lucky us.
RIGHT.
Anyway~~we slacked under some highway near the esplanade [which I forgot is called what~] until it's time for us to go in. There this net like thingy with fake leaves which the SAF kiddos used to cover us from urm the public eye maybe? haha~I think they used the net as some form of barricade. *shrug~
But what amused me the most was how KPO Singaporeans/people living in Singapore/people at the esplanade on National Day were. See, the net thingy has holes right? Doubt they wanna suffocate us before we yank down the cloth [then again, by the way we were ji siao-ing them...MAYBE hoh. lol~].
So the typical curiousity-struck guy by the street would peer into the nets and check out what's going on behind the nets.
The typical Singaporean would stand RIGHT infront of the net and check out what's going on inside.
The ULTIMATE Singaporean KPO would peer through the nets using his/her hands and check out what's going on behind the nets.
The Champion of the batch would be that auntie with 5 funpacks and just 1 kid, peering through the nets using her hands, then asking, "Eh ah girl. Ni men zhai zhuo she mo??" .
lol~
Another amusing thing about the net was that an ice cream truck was packed right outside the net.
We're all growing,deviously hungry and sian-ed diao-ed kids.
So what did we do?
We bought ice cream over the nets.
loL~
The uncle was actually quite deaf and the queue was long, but this real nice guy took our orders and helped us buy our ice creams then passing them to us through the net. A few seconds later, I noticed that other CJCians had gone outside the barricade [which I thought we weren't allowed to go] and bought ice cream.
DIAO~~~~~~
Nvm~buying ice cream through a barricade is funnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn~
So we had oil-soaked KFC dinner. AGAIN.
And no Wan Wan Pao Pao Guo Dong!!!
"wan wan pao pao guo dong zhen de huai shen qi!"
lalalalalala~
But we had ice creammmmmmmm!
haha.
I just said I bought ice cream right?
Right after I finished up my ice cream, my friend shouted ," ice cream!!" and that kiasu within me rushed alllllllllllllll the way to the box and grabbed 4 cups of milo ice cream for my friends.
4 is little K.
Some grabbed 10 on each hand.
Don't ask me how they did it.
I'm still trying to figure that one out.
Hmmmm...........
Where are the pictures?
Processing them my dearies.
Processing.
Read: "remove the embarrassing ones"
lol~
And it wasn't using my digi cam lah....was using Jolene's digi cam~
* Jolene's this real sweet gal from Monk's Hill who's in the same bus group as me.
Future same sec school!
haha~
Ah, then Hoe Teck[teacher-in-charge-of-NYAA] popped his top over a bunch of ODACians opening a bag of dry ice.
He then threw a bottle of water at some random nobody.
What a sucker.
Talk about a uptight bitch throwing a bitch fit over nothing.
Nah, didn't let that ruin our day.
Kinda pointless and silly don't you think?
When it was time for us to go to the stands, we wanted to take a pic, so we asked this army dude who was standing guard there to help us take.
Blur kia only responded after the 6th "ARMY GUY!!"
tsk tsk.
Before long it was time for us to go!
Strangely the cloth didn't stink that day.
Like WOW.
You reckon the army dudes in charge of us washed it??
haha~
Everything went smoothly, until we came to the middle section.
A bunch of (^&^#$@# people were blocking our way.
I repeat, a GROUP.
Not one, not two, but a WHOLE BUNCH of them.
And they just stood there retardedly [is there such a word??] even when they saw us coming their way.
So for someone my size, it's not easy to get pass them.
What happened?
I fell a 80% fall. Meaning didn't fall down flat on my face lah~Just almost landed into the spectators' seats ,AGAIN.
But I die also wouldn't let go of the cloth. And I didn't.
So the cloth sorta pulled me up?
Haha~
Next came the lame barricades about 3/4 my height.
And that is a sensitive issue which shall be discussed another day.
:D
So we had to squeeze through the lame barricades.
And TOUCH DOWN!
The cloth safely reached the padang without
a) twisting.
b) being let go.
c) getting wet.
d) touching the Padang.
Altogether now, CHEERS!!!
HALLELUJAH~
Heard Abang was watching us that day from the stands. [Yes Big brother's ALWAYS watching]
Would hate to be singled by him on Thursday morning.
After touchdown at ground ZERO, was the whole ,"WE ARE SINGAPORE, WE ARE SINGAPORE" thingy~
Kinda lame, but it brought back memories of P1.
Those days whereby you just sung your lungs out during National Day, waving your miniature Singapore flags madly until they break or tear. Whichever comes first.
Not giving a hoot as to what the others would think of you....just having simple, plain old fun.
Anyway, when the NDP ended [when it stopped showing on your television set] there was a post NDP party on the Padang for the participants!
There was a DJ, loads of dancers and all, kinda fun.
Cos' everyone started dancing either the NDP mass dance, CJ hip hop mass dance some even danced orientation mass dance lah!
So it was a damn amusing sight.
And everyone ran about rubbing bronzers off each other [Sang Nila act] .
Played until our bloody shirts looked bloodier and gross-er.
But HECK!
hahah~
Ended the day with a red bean milkshake from Thai express.
Not bad.
Might be too sweet for you guys.
But just right for me.
Red, White and sweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.
