Camp ODAC-Style.

Camp ODAC-Style.

2 nights and 1 day.

AJC ODAC CAMP!

Haha~just got home, so forgive me if this entry's alittle bonkers cos' my mind is not really at optimum "working efficiency" at the moment, given that all other contributing factors are the same, Ceteris Paribus. [economics~]

Hmmm...on day 1...ok, Night 1, the teacher-in-charge- of ODAC screened a documentary movie called "Amazing Caves". It was about 2 ladies who are both very much dedicated to their exploration of caves in search of some micro-organisms which they hope could some day be a cure to some sickness...

Very inspiring...but after 16 years and almost 1 month living in a little island called Sinapore...I've come to the terms with the fact sacrificing a stable job, a steady steady, a 6 figure annual income, car, house, latest handphone model for dreams, for challenges, for exploration of self by exploring the unexplored even for humanity would DEFINATELY raise everrrrrryone's eyebrows no matter their age....

Guess monetary possesions are just about the only goals of our 'countrymen' (sounds lame eh?).

Maybe it's the Singaporean way of killing dreams or scaling them down.
Shall comment on that another day...

Ok~
Later on we played some ice breakers around 10 pm.
My group wanted to be called 'The Elevens' since there was eleven of us. [Including my 2 group ICs, both verrrrrrrrrrrry nice de~]
Later on, we decided on 'BNW' cos everyone was either in black or white and people kept dissappearing from the our group [they had something on..and the camp was an no obligation kinda camp].

Ok lah~then played some 'Find the Murderer' game whereby all of us would be disabled one way or another~I was practically MUTE all the way~I very noisy meh??? And I think that being blind is the worst of all disabilities...black 24/7....wohh....
Then there were the lamers (as in really cannot walk)
Lol~
Typical games but very fun nevertheless !

By the time the games ended it was around 12:30 going to 1 am and we weren't allowed to shower cos we had barely 5 hours of sleep left.
Nevermind. Didn't shower for 3 days during OBS anyway~

So yeah, slept over at AJ last night.
It was damn freezing ahhh~~luckily I had my towel with me~
Which actually isn't really enough...

Next morning, we were woken up around 5 +.
We had crackers, milo and peanut butter or nutella bread.
I got the nutella one.

The ODAC seniors are damn nice actually....spread breadspread over our bread for us. Also mind you, Nutella is NOT cheap lehh...

After breakfirst , Vanessa (a st nic's gal in my group) left us for another camp in her secondary school. So only Hui Fen(another gal in my group) and I were the only 2 gals left.
Nevermind.

After breakfirst we went to SICC by bus and there we started our trek to Macritchie.
The trek was okkkkkk.
The road was filled with lots of twigs...rocks...logs and some really out of place and unaturally fallen branches which our ODAC teacher-in-charge lamented were attempts by the authority to close up that particular trail for some reason...(the rape incident last year? No idea~)

The SICC to Macritchie trail isn't as flat and clear as any of the trails I've been to. We were told not to talk so much, but to pay attention to nature, so yeah, Chang Tai the soooooooooooo super blooooody noisy LAMER [I concede defeat! He's the TRUE king of LAME crappers] had to shut up...but for awhile only~ -.-"

While 'paying attention to Nature' I saw an ant infested log.
No bid deal you say.
The ant was this big. [ _____________]
Of which it's butt was big. [ ______]
Woahhh~Mutant sia!

Next time go trekking 'pay more attention to nature ah'

We were told to double ziploc our belongings cos' we'll be crossing a reservoir.
When you hear that before a trek, naturally you'd be expecting to get reallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllly wet for a reallllllllllllllllllllllly loooooooooooooooooong distance right?

Dissapointment 1 : It was barely 5 m of a part of the reservoir.

Dissapointment 2: It was only up to my shoulders [Meaning it'll probably cover the heads of Angel/xy/grace/june/anyone shorter then me. Lol~]

After that part of the trek, we walked on the very much more civilised looking trek right next to SICC. So yeah, a bunch of ah peks playing golf kept staring at the wet 56 of us.

No big deal, I've been stared at by another bunch of *&^%#$^&* people previously....so yeah..no big deal.. In fact my group found it pwreeeeeetyyyy amusing~

Climbed to the top of some 6 storey tower where we rested and took a bite of our "motivational food" as the J2s called them...OK, 1 chewy bar and 3 oreos out of the 5 museli/chewy bars and 6 oreos I received from the J2s and 2 dudes from my group.

Oh yeah. Did I mention I met Clarence from Henry Park Primary School ? He was in my primary 4 class! Haha~he used to be very irritating eh? Then again. ALL boys of that age were irritating! lol~

Hmmm...then we just took a bus back to AJ where we were told that we'll be having a BBQ that night.
Bad part: We were to plan the whole bbq ourselves.

Chicken feed right?
We've all planned bbqs before anyway.

But can all 56 of us plan together?
That's plain crap.
So I sat out of the bbq comittee which was so very full of people already and went to the performing comittee to plan a lame skit for everyone.

Wan Hui and I were the narrators for the lame skit. And only a few of us out of the whole performing comittee was actually planning, the rest were just stoning. Nevermind, everyone's tired right?

So yeah that didn't piss me off.

What did piss me off however was how there was soooooooooooooooo many people in the bbq comittee yet it was still so very cocked up, leaving so many of us with nothing to do while others were so very busy cos' we didn't know which department needed help.

Later on, when I finally found somewhere where help was needed [marinating comittee], the j2s annouced that the gals were NOT to touch the food and the guys were NOT to start the fire.

What the &%$$@#@#.

That got me VERY pissed off.
Why make us do what we're not good at when there's such a shortage of time already?
You people don't want to eat ah?
What ever happened to the maximising of Manpower?

Crap.

We even had a competition to see which group started their fire the fastest.
My group only had 2 gals can?
And the both of us didn't know how to start a fire.
Confession: I don't know how to start a fire even though I'm from NPCC and have been to sooooooooooo mannnnnnnnnnnny bbqs~

Luckily the j2s called Hazel from another group to come over to help us.
And even more fortunately, she knows how to start a fire!!
So yeah, the fact that our bbq pit was started the fastest and was the hottest was simply because Hazel started it for us and told us what to do etc...
Thanks Hazel!!

But I guess they had their reasons. Maybe they wanted us to learn how to start a bloody fire when there are guys around to start it, in case one day we go to a bbq with no guys. Which to me......is quite impossible.

T.T

So yeah~we got the fire started and even though we were only slightly behind time, the bbq was a success! I didn't have any of the chicken though....Don't like to get my hands soaked in oil.

But....fun as the camp had been...it only made me miss the HUAs...L.A.S.T....4E1....Balestier Hill....even more...

The thought of how the bbq would have been if you peeps were with me just kept floating quietly through my numbskull..the fact that I conviniently FORGOT to bring my kk(my handphone) didn't help.

BBQ at Mugger Island, AJC!
Woah...

The J2s even made us banana with cabury in it...spread our bread with nutella....made us milo...bought us lotsa snacks...

Nice of them ain't it?

But...it was kinda like secondary school uniform groups, without the uniform, without the marching and the drills, with nicer seniors who don't pump[yet] .

Now I'm having second thoughts about ODAC.

Okkkkkkkkk

School again tomorrow.
Tutorials and lectures again.
Haven't finish homework anxieties again.
School ends at 1+ and I'll have to reach MacRitchie tomorrow at 2 for AJC's cross country.

Holidays!!
Where art thou???
