Went out with some of the HUAs yesterday.
Had lunch, chatted, crapped for quite some time,took neoprints (the blue and white one was nice!!) then went to visit my Grace mummy at work.
Aiyah~her uniform was alright lah~You people overrated it. Or maybe all of us just have different perspective on the term 'UGLY' lol~
My mummy looked sooo lady in her hot pink (but dull version) skirt and top. Pity it looks so auntie. Maybe it's to appeal to the aunties~Lol~
Anyway, I like the shoes in OG...
GRACE! U got discount or not? Help me buy shoe! (If I buy,my dad would most probably blow his top off at me. Something about me 'contributing' to his competitors~lol~)
Anyway,being in town yesterday made me see how packed it is. On a Monday. Woah~
Everyone was rushing for deals and discounts on some Christmas sale everywhere. It was like a war zone in Orchard. Aunties fighting over a pair of underwear, ah peks challenging each other to cut the queue, kids screaming for toys...etc...
It suddenly struck me how commercialised and foreign Christmas has become. How Christmas shopping has become so much more of a chore than a form of relaxation now.
What is Christmas all about? Who's bought the most expensive gift? Who's got the best taste? Who's the richest among us?
It's sad. A celebration of Jesus's birthday commercialized for man's own selfish needs. Sad that a day of giving and sharing becomes a day of the comparision of gifts , price paid and brand names.
This Christmas, all I want is to find the real reason behind Christmas being revived again. That, and of course an invitation to a fabulous Christmas celebration.
