The Paternal.
The Paternal.
Read something amusing just now in the Straits Times.
According to a worldwide survey released yesterday,"Mother" is the most beautiful English word in the English Language, followed by "passion" , "smile" , "love" and "eternity".
'Mother" was the only word of the 70 characters that describes a direct relationship between people and that it came out top when the word "Father" didn't make it to the list at all.
Personally I think "smile" should have been the most beautiful word in the English Language but...
Woah. "Mother" coming out tops when "Father" doesn't even make it to the list?
Strange how come mothers' day is so celebrated every year while nobody makes a fuss over fathers' day.
Frankly,I'm also one of those guilty ones who celebrate their mothers more then their fathers. Pherhaps that's because I get emotional support from my mother ,not my father.
My mother even told me how I was so afraid of my dad whenever he came to pick me up from my aunt's place (my aunt took care of me in my baby/toddler years). And honestly,I had zero feelings ,maybe even hating him before my eyes opened from Christ.
It was only then that I realised how much he sacrificed and suffered just for my family and my sake. On example, my dad only occasionally comes home early for dinner, most of the days he just stuffs himself with bread or some other junk to silence his hunger. All that...just for us all to live comfortably. Just for our happiness.
Lao Tie (that's what I call my dad at home), aLi loves you loads! And aLi is sorry for all the silly stuff she did...
